Some
patients prefer analog hearing aids over digital ones. This is especially
true, if that individual has exclusively worn analogs for many years.
The
sound quality of an anolog is sometimes preferred by patients with
severe hearing loss. Many of these former analog wearers are not
bothered by background sounds, nor the loudness of ambient sound.
By definition, digital hearing aids are quieter than analogs. For
this reason, we do not believe that analog hearing aids will be
completely phased out of the marketplace.
